Privacy Policy

Seventh Knight Privacy Policy

This Statement is effective as of June 1, 2013.

Maintaining your privacy and your trust is of utmost importance to Seventh Knight. This Statement discloses the information practices for both Seventh Knight as a business as well as for its website, including what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared. It also describes how cookies, web beacons, and other technologies may be used in our security software products. From time to time, we may supplement this Statement with additional information relating to a particular interaction we have with you.

Seventh Knight, Inc. uses GlobalSign®, part of the GMO Internet Inc. group of companies, whose digital certificates protect the data and transactions for many Fortune 100 companies and for governments all around the world. The Seventh Knight website uses GlobalSign’s Extended Validation SSL providing a higher level of trust and assurance than standard SSL certificates. This proves to visitors that this site is not one of an increasing number of fraudulent websites that target online shoppers. GlobalSign's Extended Validation SSL Certificate guarantees that customers are authenticated to the highest industry standards and that your communications with the Seventh Knight website are appropriately encrypted and protected from outside intrusion.

All Seventh Knight Security software products use DigiCert®’s Extended Validation (EV) Code Signing Certificate, the gold standard for code signing authentication and security. DigiCert’s EV Code Signing Certificates adhere to the CA/Browser Forum’s strict validation standards and to Microsoft’s own security specifications. DigiCert provides digital certificates to over 60,000 customers in more than 146 countries including Facebook, PayPal, Intel, Overstock.com, Wikimedia, NASA, and IBM.

Code signing certificates are used by software developers to digitally sign a program to prove that it has not been altered or compromised by a third party. While software purchased from a retail store is typically considered to be relatively safe, programs downloaded from the Internet are often treated with suspicion because of the widespread proliferation of viruses and malware. With a certificate from a trusted certificate authority like DigiCert, customers are ensured that Seventh Knight Security software is free from malware, tampering, and theft. Seventh Knight, Inc. also complies with the U. S.- EU Safe Harbor framework and the U. S.-Swiss Safe Harbor framework as set forth by the U. S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal data from the European Union member countries and Switzerland.

For example, you may want to give us your name and contact information to communicate with you, to order a product, to process an order, to register for a service, or other reasons to do business with us. You may also provide your credit card details to purchase one of our products. If you tell us that you do not want us to use your information to make further contact with you beyond fulfilling your request, we will respect your wishes.

Collecting information in this manner allows us to collect statistics about the usage and effectiveness of our website and our software products, personalize your experience, and tailor our interactions with you. For details regarding the technologies we employ, see Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Technologies below.

In the event of such a disclosure, we will notify you that such a disclosure may be made and/or what our response to any disclosure request will be.

Information for Business Partners
If you represent a Seventh Knight business partner, we may use information you provide to us to administer and develop our business relationship with you, the business partner you represent, and Seventh Knight business partners generally. For instance, this may involve using your information to send you details of Seventh Knight business partner programs. It may also include sharing certain information with other business partners (subject to any confidentiality obligations that may exist), or Seventh Knight customers or prospects. In connection with a particular transaction or program, we may also contact you as part of customer satisfaction surveys or for market research purposes.

Sharing of Personal Information
In some cases, Seventh Knight may use service providers to collect, use, analyze, and otherwise process information on its behalf. It is Seventh Knight's practice to require such service providers to handle information in a manner consistent with Seventh Knight's policies. Seventh Knight however will not sell or give any of your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes without your consent, nor will engage or support in any way the use of “spam” or unsolicited communications without your consent or ability to opt out.

Circumstances may arise where, whether for strategic or other business reasons, Seventh Knight may sell, buy, merge or otherwise reorganize its business. Such a transaction may involve the disclosure of personal information to prospective or actual purchasers. It is Seventh Knight’s practice to seek appropriate protection for that information in these types of transactions.

Please be aware that in certain circumstances, personal information may be subject to disclosure to government agencies pursuant to judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process. We may also share such information to protect the rights or property of Seventh Knight, our business partners, service providers or clients, and others when we have reasonable grounds to believe that such rights or property have been or could be affected. As with all Legally Required Disclosures, we will notify you that such a disclosure may be made and/or what our response to any disclosure request will be.

Information Security and Accuracy
We intend to protect your personal information and to maintain its accuracy. Seventh Knight implements reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to help us protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. However, we will honor your request that we no longer use your registration information if you have discontinued your registration and use of our product(s). We will retain and use your registration information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Technologies
As mentioned above, we collect information from your visits to our website and from our software products to help us gather statistics about usage and effectiveness, personalize your experience, and tailor our interactions with you. We do so through the use of various technologies, including one called "cookies." A cookie is a piece of data that a website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer as a tag that identifies your computer. While cookies are often only used to measure website usage (such as number of visitors and duration of visit) and effectiveness (such as topics visitors are most interested in) and to allow for ease of navigation or use and, as such, are not associated with any personal information, they are also used at times to personalize a known visitor's experience to a website by being associated with profile information or user preferences. Over time this information provides valuable insight to help improve the user experience.

Cookies are typically categorized as "session" cookies or "persistent" cookies. Session cookies help you navigate through the website efficiently, keeping track of your progression from page to page so that you are not asked for information you have already provided during the current visit. Session cookies are stored in temporary memory and erased when the web browser is closed. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, store user preferences for current and successive visits. They are written on your device's hard disk, and are still valid when you restart your browser.

Most browsers, by default, automatically permit cookies, but also give you the ability to control the majority of cookies, including whether or not to accept them and how to remove them. Look under the heading "Tools" (or similar heading) in your particular browser for information about controlling cookies. You can set your browser in most instances to notify you before you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it or not. You can also generally set your browser to turn off cookies. Since cookies allow you to take advantage of some of our website's features or features of our software products, we recommend that you leave them turned on. If you block, turn off, or otherwise reject our cookies, some webpages may not display properly or you will not be able, for instance, to purchase a product, proceed to checkout, or use any website services that may require you to sign in.

The Seventh Knight website may also use web beacons or other technologies to better tailor those sites to provide better customer service. These technologies may be in use on a number of pages across Seventh Knight's website. When a visitor accesses these pages, a non-identifiable notice of that visit is generated which may be processed by us or by our service providers. These web beacons usually work in conjunction with cookies. If you don't want your cookie information to be associated with your visits to these pages or use of these products, you can set your browser to turn off cookies or turn off cookies in the product itself, respectively. If you turn off cookies, web beacons and other technologies will still detect visits to these pages; however, they will not be associated with information otherwise stored in cookies.

We may also include web beacons in marketing email messages or our newsletters in order to determine whether messages have been opened and links contained within clicked on.

Third-party social media buttons may log certain information such as your IP address, browser type and language, access time, and referring website addresses, and, if you are logged in to those social media sites, they may also link such collected information with your profile information on that site. We do not control these third-party tracking technologies.

Online Advertising
Seventh Knight does not deliver third-party online advertisements on our website but we may advertise our products and services on others' websites. Please familiarize yourself with those website operators' or network advertisers' privacy policies to understand their practices relating to advertising, including what type of information they may collect about your Internet usage.

We may also engage with certain third parties to manage some of our advertising on other sites. These third parties may use cookies and web beacons to collect information (such as your IP address) about your activities on Seventh Knight's and other websites to provide you targeted Seventh Knight advertisements based upon your interests. However, Seventh Knight does not control, nor can be held responsible for, the use of such information by these other parties.

Links to Non-Seventh Knight Web Sites and Third-Party Applications
To allow you to interact with other website on which you may have accounts (such as Facebook and other social media sites) or join communities on such sites, we may provide links or embed third-party applications that allow you to login, post content, or join communities from our website.

We may also provide you with general links to non-Seventh Knight websites. Your use of these links and applications is subject to the third parties’ privacy policies, and you should become familiar with the third parties' privacy policies before using the links or applications.

Seventh Knight is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those other websites.

Notification of Changes
We will post a notice for 30 days at the top of this page notifying users when this Privacy Statement is updated or modified in a material way. If we are going to use your personal information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify you, and you will have a choice as to whether or not we can use your personal information in such a way.
